Want to Know
i asked the question once hey where are we going and what'll we do when we get there? as an old man i will answer that question hope i can say that life was fair I DON'T KNOW IF I'LL FIND A PLACE TO SETTLE DOWN AND BE MYSELF AND LOVE THE WORLD AND HAVE A REASON TO REGRET MY DEATH WHEN THAT DAY COMES AND I DON'T KNOW IF I'D WANT TO KNOW i joined the group around the table listened to the conversation heard the awful things she said i thought she'd surely have a reason for her anger if she'd share what she was thinking or i could read her mind instead SHE DOESN'T KNOW IF SHE'LL FIND A PLACE TO SETTLE DOWN AND BE HERSELF AND LOVE THE WORLD AND HAVE A REASON TO REGRET HER DEATH WHEN THAT DAY COMES AND I DON'T KNOW IF SHE'D WANT TO KNOW
I wrote these lyrics when I was in HS and a friend of mine named Spencer Price brought over his guitar to play around. It's a slightly lighthearted look at the uncertainty of life.
Everything written and performed by JC Simonsen except for the acoustic guitar part written by Spencer Price and used with permission. I have performed it here as well as I could remember it, excepting the modifications/additions I made in song structure.
